Peace Rally and School Supply Giveaway

In addition to the Book Bag Giveaway to various HOAs, ASJN partnered with Cash Savers Grocery located at 2101 Raymond Road, Jackson, MS, the Jackson Police Department and other community leaders for the first Peace Rally and school supply giveaway. The partners believe the best way to reach youth is to get JPD, business leaders and community to connect with one another. They believe we all can do more to engage young people in a positive manner by supporting their educational needs. The Peace Rally is a commitment by business leaders, government, and individuals interested in repairing the broken parts of the South Jackson community and offering meaningful support. Attendees at the Peace Rally included: Pastor Jeff Weathersby (Omega Ministries), Corporal Suttles (JPD), Bishop F.L. Blount, (Greater Tree of Life - Healing the City Coalition), Ronnie Crudup, Jr. (State Representative), Clark Group, Chief James Davis (JPD), Pastor Greg Divinity and Corey Bryant (New Vineyard Church), Pastor JT Robinson (JPD) Police Chaplain, Ernest Ward (ASJN President), Johnny Byrd (ASJN Vice President), Florine Keeler (ASJN Treasurer), Dr. Patricia Jackson (ASJN Secretary), Jerry Hayman (Cash Savers Manager), Credell Calhoun (Hinds Supervisor) and Brian Grizzell (Councilman Ward 4).
