It’s Back to School Time!        

July 28, 2023, was an extremely hot day for The Association of South Jackson Neighborhoods (ASJN). President Ernest Ward and Vice-President Johnny Bryd visited eight school in South Jackson.   ASJN donated over 300 book bags and supplies to the students for the 2023-2024 school term. The eight schools that benefited were Forest Hill School, Wingfield High School, Whitten Middle School, Peeples Middle School, Cardozo Middle School, Key Elementary School, Lester Elementary School, Sykes Elementary School, and Wilkins Elementary School. The book bags and items were made possible through generous donations from sponsors in the community Supervisor Credell Calhoun, James Pollard AMR, Bobby Evans, and Jessica Gunter from Comcast. Also present was ASJN Board Members Howard Sanders and Florine Keeler (secretary). 

Each book bag was filled with paper, pencils, pens, scissors, ruler, pencil sharpener, folders, crayons and glue.
