Drive - in Movie Theater Friday night was another hot summer night. The Association of South Jackson Neighborhoods (ASJN) presented its last Drive-in movie, “RESPECT”. The Drive-in movie has always been a fun time for school children and allowed them to take a break from school and a lead in into a relaxing summer. Friday, June 17, 2022, was no different. The Association of South Jackson Neighborhoods (ASJN) opened its second 2022 Outdoor Drive - in Movie Theater to the South Jackson community in the parking lot of the Peggy Hobson Calhoun Community Center, 4243 Willowood Blvd. ASJN, realized that there was a need during these hot summer months to provide relief from stress and tension of families during the current pandemic, water crisis and hot days and months that are affecting our community. One way to relieve stress was to change the course of action and provide a great quality family movie. This is the second fundraiser this year and will be followed by many more to come. These events are fund raisers for Wingfield and Forest Hill High Schools and are made possible by our sponsors. Refreshments were also directly served to their cars, which included hot dogs, chips, drinks, and cookies. |
