ASJN Supporting Local Youth Organization

The Association of South Jackson Neighborhoods is always thrilled when it has the opportunity to support local youth organizations within the community. Recently the Mississippi Warriors youth AAU Basketball team under the leadership of Coach Mario Tyler and Coach Frank Williams reached out to ASJN to help sponsor there upcoming basketball travel season. The MS Warriors organization is completely volunteer based and supported by parents, friends, and coaches. This group of young men all come from different backgrounds, and attend different schools, but all share a common love for basketball. The team consist of 10 players who all have been playing together for the past 5 years. These group of young men are not only exceptionally on the court but off as well as they each perform very well academically. With then support from ASJN the MS Warriors were able to travel and attend the 2022 OFY Hoopfest in Grapevine, TX. The MS Warriors went 2 days undefeated and won the championship bringing the gold back home to Jackson, MS. This achievement could not have been done without the support of ASJN. While the Warrior organization is not actively recruiting boys right now, they ask the community to come out and support them at tournament and games.

The MS Warriors will be traveling to 3 more out of town tournaments this year. ASJN proudly presented a check in the amount $600.00 towards the MS Warriors AAU season. We wish them great success as they continue to represent the city of Jackson while traveling out of state. BRING BACK THE GOLD!!! GO WARRIORS!!
